| About Me | 👋 Hi! I’m Marlon Abbas — a multi-disciplinary Brazilian creative based in Vancouver with a passion for visual storytelling that sparkles, moves, and makes audiences feel something. I’m a filmmaker, editor, animator, composer, and overall post-production artist who thrives at the intersection of craft and creativity. 🎥 My journey in media began back in Brazil, where I studied Audiovisual Production for four years at the Universidade do Vale do Itajai. After that, I’ve done an intensive one year programm for film and television directing and producing at Dublin, Ireland. After that, my journey continued with immersive study in Film Production and Post-Production at Vancouver Film School and further creative exploration through independent animation and digital art. I’ve worn many hats, from shaping picture edits to designing motion graphics, composing music for shorts, and developing visual effects, all driven by curiosity and a love for storytelling. ✨ Over the years, I’ve collaborated with artists, festivals, brands, and creative teams across Canada and internationally to craft content that bridges imagination & impact. Whether it’s an emotional edit cut in Premiere Pro, an animation sequenced in After Effects, or a VFX shot composited in Blender, I bring attention to detail, innovation, and a playful creative spirit to every project. 🎓 I’ve also shared my expertise as a Post Production Teaching Assistant, helping emerging creators navigate tools, workflows, and creative problem-solving, because community and learning fuel both art and industry growth. 📍 As a proud member of the Vancouver Post Production Alliance, I’m excited to connect with fellow storytellers, expand my creative network, and contribute to the vibrant post community that makes Vancouver such an inspiring home for post-production pros. 🎶 When I’m not in the editing bay, you might find me composing tunes, exploring the city’s film culture, or experimenting with new visual techniques that push the boundaries of traditional storytelling.
