Matthew O’Connor’s first feature film score at Slamdance

Feature film Good Bad Things has been awarded a Grand Jury “Unstoppable” Award at the Slamdance Film Festival.

The film features VPA Member Matthew O’Connor‘s first feature film score. Matthew writes:

The film is called Good Bad Things and features some Canadian acting firepower as well! Brett Dier (Jane the Virgin, About My Father) and Jessica Parker Kennedy (The Flash, Percy Jackson and the Olympians) support the film’s lead actor and co-writer Danny Kurtzman. The film is directed by Shane Stanger, who I met in university and we couldn’t be happier with how our first feature together turned out.

The music was a joy to compose and produce. I’ve always loved songwriting and popular music and Good Bad Things gave me a chance to apply that experience to dramatic scoring. I’ll be posting any and all updates on the film on my Instagram and website, hopefully we can share the film with you all soon.
