"I'm me and nobody else; and whatever people think I am or say I am, that's what I'm not, because they don't know a bloody thing about me."
- Anthony Sardo

How many years have you spent working or studying in the Vancouver Post Production industry? I've had the great honour and painting my vision on a blank canvas (project timeline) for six years and counting.

What is your favourite project that you've worked on, and why?
"An abundance of projects to name, but I would go with my short, Limb Lottery. It was right when COVID hit, and it kept me in the woods playing with sock puppets... Lots of fun, total playroom, and we also took home the first prize winner in that contest!

Where did you get your start in the community? I've always been fascinated with shooting my own clips, and taking that media into Post to play around with. Developing this array of storytelling, and all of that power in your hands was just so unique to me. Putting endless hours into this edit, and finally being able to show that to the world... such pride... most of the times, haha!

What do you see as the biggest asset your sector provides to the Vancouver industry? I'd like to view myself as somewhat still youthful (my kneecaps would disagree), but taking the time to acquire teachings from the Vets, and apply these lessons onward. There's a long list of projects I wish to be a part of, and I have an eager will to continue editing for a long time.

What do you see as the biggest hurdle for your sector, relative to the Vancouver industry? I would say finance. Building your dream Editorial Suite. It takes time, precise equipment, and saving up for those essential components.

What support does the Vancouver post community need most now? The support right now is awareness. Post-Production can easily be often forgotten, or looked past. There is a massive intelligent group of people here, whose hard work and determination for the industry deserves more light. More sponsors, more events, more edits!

Why did you join the VPA? I joined the VPA to connect with like-minded, innovative individuals such as myself. To pitch several ideas and thoughts to the Board of Directors. I'm eager to learn from the best, and apply these teachings moving forward.

Who was/is your mentor/inspiration/idol? Gotta go with my man, Spike Jonze.

If you could have worked on any series/film ever created, which one would it be, and why?? Anything with David Cronenberg I suppose? Would love to go toe-to-toe with that man in the Editing Suite.

In one sentence, what advice do you wish someone had given you five years ago, relative to your career today? Each piece of craft you put into your work is a moment in time in your life, this is your legacy you will leave behind.

What is your favourite pastime outside of work? Smooth jazz & surfing.
