DIVERSITY & INCLUSION: June Celebrations

The VPA proudly recognizes Indigenous History and Pride Month in June!

#IndigenousHistoryMonth

We join our members in celebrating National Indigenous History Month, to honour and acknowledge the heritage, diverse cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people.

The Vancouver International Film Festival and Museum of Vancouver have partnered to commemorate Indigenous History Month with the Who We Are film series. The curatorial goal is to celebrate Indigenous voices in cinema, to showcase strong engaging stories from First Nations, Métis, Inuit and Maori filmmakers while showing the beauty, complexities and vibrancies of Indigeneity around the globe.

Who We Are films are available to watch on VIFF Connect from June 21 until July 4, 2021. Series passes and tickets are free to Indigenous Peoples. Single Tickets are $10 and Series Passes (5 films) are $25.

#PrideMonth2021

June is also Pride Month in Canada and we’re proud to celebrate diversity, resilience, and empowerment of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
