VPA Message from the Chair: June 2025

I begin my first “Message from the Chair” by stating the obvious. As incoming chair, I am stepping into Don Thompson’s very large shoes. I hope to fill them by continuing his legacy of passion for our industry, commitment to our community, and a willingness to lend a hand or bend an ear. Thank you, Don.

I am a small part of an amazing team. I look forward to the wisdom and experience of our seasoned board members Kerry McDowell, Julia Niendorf and Arlein Wharf-Garcia, and the passion and creativity of our board newcomers Sierra Furr-Wilson, Ed Douglas, Craig Harris and Jordan Andrew. This board has balance. This board has passion. This board has big ideas and ambitious plans.

Most importantly, though, I look forward to working with you; our membership and our community. Please reach out and share your priorities, your ideas, and your visions for our future. I can’t wait to hear from you.
