On Feb 18, 2025 @ 7:30PM, The VPA Mentorship Committee is hosting an introductory event that connects established industry professionals with the upcoming generation of Post Production in Vancouver. Potential program participants will be divided into Mentors and Mentees and provided the unique opportunity to test the waters of this program in a fun and interactive environment.
Throughout the Speed Mentoring Event, Mentees will rotate through the Mentors; using the allotted five minutes to ask a few questions and give both parties a taste of our Spring Mentorship Program prior to applications opening.
Unlike the program itself, this setup will cross sector boundaries and provide participants with a glimpse into the many sides of Post Production.The Mentors at the event will range from, but not limited to, career inside:
Editorial Department
Picture Editors
Assistant Editors
Post Sound Department
Re-Recording Mixers
Foley Artists
Sound Editors
VFX Department
VFX Producers
VFX Editors
VFX Artists
Music

Music Supervisor

Spots are limited, so all event participants must register in advancebefore Feb 7th as either a Mentor or Mentee to ensure that the event is tailored to suit the number of attendees.

Speed Mentoring Mentee Eligibility:
– No VPA Membership requirement
– Must have 2 years of relevant industry experience
Speed Mentoring Mentor Eligibility:
– All VPA Mentorship Program Mentors must be current Vancouver Post Alliance Associate or Professional Members in good standing at the time of application submission and throughout the duration of the program.
– Mentors must be well established in their career path, with 5-10 years minimum experience in their given sector.
– Must be legally entitled to work according to the provincial legislation and regulations.
