MENTORS

Mentor Guidelines &
Application Instructions

3 month commitment from the Mentor and Mentee with in-person or virtual meetings every two weeks & access to the Mentor via email and/or phone once every week.

Post Producers, Post Accounting and many more!

  • All VPA Mentorship Program Mentees & Mentors must be current Vancouver Post Alliance Professional Members in good standing at time of application submission and throughout the duration of the program. 
  • Mentors must be well established in their career path with 5-10 years minimum experience in their given sector. 
  • Must be legally entitled to work according to the provincial legislation and regulations. 

Application submissions open FEBRUARY 12, 2026.
Application deadline is MARCH 14, 2026.

Your application will be reviewed by the VPA Mentorship Committee before pairing you with the most suitable Mentee from our list of applicants.

Pairings will be announced at the start of the program on APRIL 11, 2026*

Mentors will be required to complete a survey at the end of the program detailing their experiences.

*Please note: all Mentee applicants will be screened in a separate interview process to ensure a successful pairing.  All Mentees will require a minimum of two years of work experience and a commitment to a post production career.

The ideal mentor relates to the goals of The VPA’s Mentorship Program, while understanding the relationship between supporting the next generation of talent and the overall health and strength of our industry.
Please include:
  1. A personal letter stating what would make you a strong Mentor and what you look to achieve from the program. This is your opportunity to tell us the things we can’t learn from your resume that will help pair you with the best Mentee.
    (No more than 1 page in length)

*Please note that not all applicants are guaranteed a placement in the Mentorship Program due to the number of applications received and Mentor availability.

All applications will be carefully reviewed by the VPA Mentorship Committee.  Selected Mentees for the program will be paired with the most suitable Mentor for their area of interest.

The Committee may request more information or references as part of the application review process.

All eligible Mentee applicants will be screened in a separate interview process to ensure a successful pairing.

Mentees will also be required to complete a survey at the end of the program, detailing their experiences.

The ideal candidate is committed to focusing exclusively on a career in Post Production and is seeking guidance from a seasoned professional for their next steps along that path. 
Please include:
  1. A personal letter stating why you are the right candidate for mentorship and what you hope to achieve from the program.  This is your opportunity to tell us the things we can’t learn from your resume.  Who you are, what your journey has been, what your goals are, what type of help you need, and what type of Mentor would be great for you.

    (No more than 2 pages in length)
  1. Your resume 
  2. Two letters of recommendation from different Post Production industry professionals with whom you’ve worked with in the past.
    (No more than 1 page each)
