About Me | Saeed Vahidi is an Iranian-Canadian filmmaker, editor, and educator based in Vancouver. He studied filmmaking in Iran and continued his studies in film editing at the Film and Television Institute of India. He has attended workshops with well-known artists like Walter Murch and Abbas Kiarostami. He has made documentaries and short fiction films, and worked in countless editing rooms in the independent and professional film industry; and has gained a commercial as well as an artistic understanding of and approach to film. His Canadian directorial debut, “We Were There” (2019), won the Best Genre Award at McMinnville Short Film Festival 2020, Gold Remi Award at Worldfest Houston Short Film Festival 2020, Best Drama at Southern Shorts Awards 2020, among others. When he is not making films or editing, Saeed mentors young editors and he helps independent Iranian theatre groups show their plays in Canada.
He is a real film lover who has to watch a movie every night before going to sleep. |
