About Me | AMANDA CAWLEY IS AN AWARD-WINNING ORCHESTRAL COMPOSER KNOWN FOR CRAFTING FANTASTICAL THEMES FOR FILM, TELEVISION AND GAMES. Inspired by the power of music to enhance storytelling, Amanda specializes in creating sonic landscapes that connect narrative concepts with melodic motifs, reflecting them through carefully chosen instrumentation and soundscapes. Her talent for breathing life into characters and worlds through music has garnered recognition and admiration throughout Canada and beyond. With meticulous attention to detail, Amanda weaves memorable melodies with evocative orchestrations. Her compositions seamlessly guide the audience through the highs and lows of the narrative. AMANDA’S MUSIC HAS GARNERED CRITICAL ACCLAIM At the 2024 Canadian Screen Music Awards, Amanda received two awards: Best Original Score for Animated Series or Special (Ostinato) and Best Original Score for Games and Interactive Media (Siegebreaker). She was also nominated for Best Original Score for Documentary Series (Visionary Gardeners). Amanda has previously won a Leo Award in 2022 for Best Musical Score in a Documentary Series (Visionary Gardeners) and received recognition for Best Original Score (Never Broken) at the 2023 Best Shorts Competition Award. Additionally, she has been nominated for Leo Awards in 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 in various categories, including Best Musical Score in a Documentary Series and Short Drama. Her portfolio includes a variety of media, including 104 episodes of the globally-distributed animated TV series Fireman Sam and 20 episodes of the documentary series Ageless Gardens for which she received nominations for Best Original Music, Non-Fiction at the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards and Canadian Screen Music Awards. In 2022, Amanda was recognized by the SOCAN Foundation with two Honourable Mentions in the Emerging Screen Composer Awards for Best Original Score, Non-Fiction (Ageless Gardens: Sacred Spaces) and Best Original Theme Song (Visionary Gardeners). She participated in the Screen Composer Academy’s 2022 Film and Games Composer Intensive in Athens, Greece, hosted by Richard Bellis, and received mentorship from Garry Schyman, Jeff Atmajian, and Miriam Cutler, earning a Film and Game Scoring Certificate of Excellence. Amanda holds a Diploma in Contemporary Music and Technology from Selkirk College and has completed Level 10 at the Royal Conservatory of Music in History, Theory, and Piano Performance. Amanda works out of her studio in British Columbia, Canada, and collaborates with clients and orchestras around the world. |
