GOOD NEWS: IN THE ROOM Wins Audience Award at VIFF

Five Afghan women share their powerful stories of defiance and resilience in IN THE ROOM — a new feature documentary by Brishkay Ahmed, produced by the National Film Board of Canada.  

In The Room was edited by VPA member Jessica Dymond, and the Dialogue Editor and Sound Designer was VPA Member Doug Paterson. The film was mixed at Maverick Post with VPA member May Guimarães. The film recently won the Audience Award – Showcase at the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF 2025).

N THE ROOM follows Brishkay Ahmed through intimate conversations with Afghan women who have courageously taken the world stage to reclaim their homeland.
