The Canadian Screen Award nominations are out, and we are excited to announce that three of the VPA’s professional members have been included in this year’s cohort!
Sabrina Pitre has been nominated in the category of Best Picture Editing, Children’s or Youth, for her work on
FAKES (episode 1: “Teen Drinking is Very Bad…”).
Brothers Brian and Caleb Chan have been nominated in the category of Best Original Music, Animation for their efforts
in not one but TWO different productions: Pinecone & Pony, and Team Zenko Go!
We would also like to give a shout-out to the team at Ghost VFX Vancouver for being nominated in the category of
Achievement in Visual Effects for their work on Bones of Crows!
The Canadian Academy produces the Canadian Screen Awards, bringing together the screen-based industry annually to celebrate the country’s top talent in the film, television and digital sectors at Canadian Screen Week. In 2013, the Canadian Screen Awards were born as the result of a merger of the Academy’s Gemini and Genie Awards, which, respectively, honoured English-language television and film.
