The Vancouver Post Alliance Mentorship Program

Mission Statement

The Vancouver Post Alliance Mentorship Program nurtures emerging talent in the post production entertainment industry by connecting accepted Mentees with established professionals who can offer advice and guidance.  Mentees get the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the post production industry’s business practices and culture, focus their efforts, and hone their skills. Mentors and Mentees are expected to maintain mutual respect, honesty and confidentiality at all times.

We feel strongly that mentoring is a crucial part of our mission and that it is incumbent upon us to ensure that new generations in the film, television, and new media business are able to take advantage of the experiences of those who have gone before them.

Program Kickoff
The Minute Mentoring Event

Whether you’re ready to jump in and get started, still deciding if the program is right for you, or just trying to wrap your head around what it all means — The Minute Mentoring Event is for you!

On Wednesday, June 12, 2019, the VPA Mentorship Committee held an introductory event that connected established industry professionals with the upcoming generation of post production in Vancouver.  Potential program participants were divided into Mentors and Mentees and provided the unique opportunity to test the waters of this dichotomy in a fun and interactive environment.

Mentees rotated through the Mentors, using the allotted five minutes or less to ask a few questions and give both parties a taste for the program’s intent prior to applications opening.  Unlike the program itself, this setup crossed sector boundaries and provided participants with a glimpse into the many sides of post.
